Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel at the scheduled time, we will head towards Mount Alban. This archaeological site is located just 10 km from Oaxaca City and stands as one of the most significant sites in Zapotec culture.
The scale of the site becomes evident upon arrival, and with the assistance of an expert guide, you'll navigate through this ancient area. As you absorb various legends tied to its extensive history, you will visit pyramids, temples and altars, along with numerous residential buildings situated around the Gran Plaza.
The ritual center of Mount Alban was a vital religious hub in Mesoamerica and served as the capital for the Zapotec people. On this tour, you will gain insights into the rich culture and history behind this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Your excursion around Mount Alban will conclude with a return to the hotels in Oaxaca after approximately 3 hours of exploration.

During Easter, July, Day of the Dead, and Christmas, different pickup points will be designated depending on traffic conditions. The local provider will reach out to inform you of the exact pickup location:
- San Felipe del Agua area: Hotel Ángel Inn
- Santa Lucía area: Puerta del CCO (Oaxaca Convention Center)
- North zone: corner of Juárez el Llano park
- South zone: in front of the Hotel Hacienda
- East zone: parish of Nuestra Señora de La Merced
- West area: Chapel of San José

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the hotel in Oaxaca that you indicated in your reservation. Please be ready a few minutes beforehand.
The day before the activity, the local provider will contact you to arrange the exact pickup time at the hotel. Please note that delays or other variations may occur depending on traffic and various other circumstances.
Please note that the ticket to the archaeological site of Mount Alban will not be included. The price of this ticket will be approximately 210MXN for foreigners, 105MXN for Mexican residents, and free for children under 12, teachers, and students (with valid ID).
