Journey to Aluxes Ecopark

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Palenque at the scheduled time, followed by a drive to the Aluxes Ecopark, a renowned sanctuary for the flora and fauna of Chiapas.

Upon arrival, you will step into a carefully designed jungle featuring over 10,000 species of trees, revitalized wetlands, and a newly established lagoon system. As part of the tour, you'll ascend a 25 m (82 ft) observation tower for a chance to observe the diverse avian life, with a particular focus on the vibrant scarlet macaw. From up high, glimpses of the Mayan archaeological site of Palenque can be seen in the distance.

Continue your exploration as you encounter monkeys, turtles, anteaters, and the majestic jaguar, the largest feline in the Americas and a revered symbol in Mayan mythology.

Your journey also includes a visit to the lagoon where you can admire manatees and learn fascinating facts about these enormous freshwater creatures, once thought to be mermaids in ancient lore.

The eco-park also features a designated crocodile area and habitats for the lively spider monkeys and howler monkeys. With a wide variety of reptiles, amphibians, and birds, you will find yourself enchanted by the rich wildlife on display.
