Whale Watching Details
Meet at Marina da Glória for a brief introduction before boarding the boat. We will navigate the waters of Rio de Janeiro toward the horizon adorned with islands at sunrise. View iconic landmarks like Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer.
From June to August, the waters of Rio host the migration of humpback whales from colder regions to the warm waters of Brazil. With some luck, we may witness these whales as they breach the surface and display their fins while swimming. We may also see dolphins, turtles, and birds during the trip. The experience includes a stop to swim and relax onboard with drinks while enjoying the view.
The return journey will conclude at the original meeting point, totaling 3 to 4 hours.

Please note that whales are unpredictable, and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Chances depend on natural and weather-related factors.

15 minutes before the scheduled time, we’ll meet in front of Sail in Rio at Marina da Glória, located at the following address: Av. Infante Dom Henrique, s/n - Centro, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 20021-140, Brazil.
Once there, you should look for staff wearing white or blue shirts with the orange Sail in Rio logo.

- In case of adverse weather conditions, the activity may be canceled by decision of the boat captain or the Brazilian marina. If this happens, the local team will contact you to offer an alternative date or a refund.
- Please note that the itinerary may be adjusted to ensure passenger safety
- We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a towel, a cap, and something warm for the sea breeze
- No refunds will be given if whales are not sighted, as wildlife observation depends on unpredictable natural factors
