Our journey begins at 2 pm in Grzybowski Square, the meeting point for our exploration of the communist era in Warsaw, focusing on the 45 years of communist governance that shaped the city.

Guided by a knowledgeable history expert, we will pass by key sites and gain insight into the transformations experienced by Warsaw residents post-World War II. Our first landmark will be the former headquarters of the Communist Party, where we will uncover the impacts of this regime on daily life.

Next, we will visit the Freedom of Expression monument, situated in front of the old government building responsible for media censorship during that time.

Following that, we will explore the Palace of Science and Culture. This iconic and somewhat controversial structure was commissioned by Stalin as a gift to the people of Warsaw from the Russian population. The architecture may evoke thoughts of grand New York skyscrapers.

Our final stop will be the "Eastern Wall", where we will discuss the "Solidarity" movement backed by Pope John Paul II toward the end of the communist period.
