Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen & Interlaken Day Trip

Embark on an exciting day trip from Zurich to immerse yourself in Switzerland’s stunning Alpine scenery. This journey will take you to Interlaken, the picturesque village of Grindelwald, and the tranquil valley of Lauterbrunnen, all framed by majestic mountains, serene lakes, and cascading waterfalls—an unforgettable escapade in the Swiss Alps!

Day Trip Overview

We will kick off this adventure at the Sihlquai coach park in Zurich, from where we will venture into the enchanting Bernese Alps. The drive will reveal breathtaking landscapes, adorned with lush meadows, pristine lakes, and towering snow-capped summits that promise to astonish you.

Upon reaching Lucerne, our journey continues to Interlaken, a splendid town nestled between the Thun and Brienz lakes. You will have around 45 minutes to meander through its delightful streets and enjoy panoramic views of the iconic Swiss Alps.

Next, we will proceed to Grindelwald, affectionately known as the “Glacier Village” due to its awe-inspiring mountain vistas. Here, you will be granted approximately 3.5 hours of free time to explore the area. We suggest taking the cable car up to 2100 m (6,889 ft) above sea level, arriving at the stunning Mount First viewpoint. The scenery from this vantage point is simply breathtaking! Additionally, you may want to browse through the Swiss craft shops and savor the local cuisine for a refreshing break.

Our next stop will be Lauterbrunnen, a fairy-tale valley renowned for its magnificent waterfalls. After a brief introduction to the area, you will have the chance to independently discover the village. Be sure to witness the awe-inspiring Staubbach waterfall, plummeting from a remarkable height of 300 meters (984 ft)—a true marvel of nature!

At the end of our exploration, we will gather back in the center of Lauterbrunnen to make our way back to Zurich, concluding our comprehensive 12-hour adventure.
