Amboise Castle Entry
Amboise Castle, a celebrated medieval treasure in the Loire Valley, has been the backdrop to a myriad of historical events: plots, imprisonments, and clandestine romances. With this ticket that allows you to bypass waiting, you can freely wander the palatial rooms and lush gardens of this significant French historical site.
Within the castle, you'll appreciate the distinctive Renaissance decor that emerged during the reign of King Louis XII. His successor, Francis I, built upon this foundation by fostering artistic endeavors. Notably, the Château d'Amboise features a tunnel linking it to the Château de Clos-Lucé, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his final years, invited by Francis I himself.
In the castle’s gardens lies the chapel of Saint Hubert, the site of Leonardo da Vinci's tomb. According to historical accounts, he passed away in the arms of Francis I, who regarded him as the father figure he never had.
Do not miss the panoramic terraces of Amboise Castle, which provide stunning views of the Loire River.
