Cape Town Tourist Bus

This well-equipped bus presents an enjoyable journey through the key attractions around Cape Town. The open-top double-decker design allows for panoramic views of the cityscape.

While navigating the route, you will listen to pre-recorded commentary in English featuring insights about the landmarks you pass. Notable stops include The World of Birds & Monkey Jungle, the fascinating Clock Tower, and the vibrant Long Street. The entire tour lasts approximately 135 minutes.

Functionality

The ticket is valid for 24 hours following its initial use. For example, if you first use the ticket at 3 pm on a Monday, it will remain valid until the same time on Tuesday.

During this 24-hour period, you can make unlimited hop on and off experiences, allowing easy access to sites such as Table Mountain, Long Street, Green Point, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, and the South African Museum.

Schedule and frequency

The frequency and times of the bus routes are as follows:

Blue line: a 135-minute journey with a 20-minute frequency between 9:00 am and 3:40 pm
Purple line: a 30-minute journey with a 20-minute frequency from 9:55 am to 4:45 pm
Red line: a 90-minute journey with a 30-minute frequency from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Yellow line: a 30-minute journey with a 20-minute frequency between 8:45 am and 5:40 pm

Historic Downtown walking tour: departures daily at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm
Bo-Kapp neighborhood walking tour: departures daily at 10:30 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm

Both walking tours commence from 81 Long Street.

Essential Information

After purchasing the ticket, you have a window of 3 months to activate it.

Children aged 5 and under travel free of charge and don't require prior reservations.

The ticket is valid for 24 hours from the time it's first used, i.e. if it's used on a Monday at 10 am, it'll be valid until Tuesday at 10 am.

Although you have to choose a specific day when booking, you can activate your Cape Town Sightseeing Bus ticket on the day of your choice within 3 months of the date you select when booking.

The cost of the ticket includes two guided tours of Cape Town:
