Details of the Day Trip

We will collect you from your accommodation and embark on a northward journey through Colima, en route to the Pueblo Mágico of Comala, often referred to as the White Town of America. Are you ready to uncover its allure?

After approximately 30 minutes of travel, our first stop will be the Alejandro Rangel Hidalgo University Museum. Here, we will explore artworks that have journeyed across the globe, alongside an impressive collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts that the artist amassed over four decades, all set against an architectural backdrop that harmoniously blends rustic charm with the tranquil surroundings of Colima.

Next, we will wander through Comala’s historic center, where the pristine white façades of the town’s buildings greet us. Strolling along the cobblestone pathways, we will arrive at the main square, the lively nucleus of the community. This vibrant area will envelop us with the sounds of music, the display of handicrafts, and the enticing scents of local delicacies.

Our attention will be drawn to the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel, a neoclassical church embodying the spirit of Comala. It may interest you to know that the celebrated author Juan Rulfo drew inspiration from this very locale to develop the world of Pedro Páramo.

The exploration of Comala will lead us to Ponche Don Tavo, where we will sample a selection of artisanal drinks, each offering unique flavors that are rooted in a long-standing tradition. Furthermore, the delightful aroma of freshly baked goods from La Guadalupana bakery will heighten our anticipation as we indulge in a local bread specialty.

To wrap up our day, we will visit a restaurant in the heart of the town, where we will relish a lunch featuring regional specialties. It promises to be a treat!
