As you settle into your plush seating, a welcome cocktail will be served while we embark on an extraordinary trip through the Peruvian Andes. The sights will captivate you, but it’s the lavish interiors of the train that will truly astonish. With polished wood and bronze accents, every detail in these sumptuous 1920s-themed carriages has been thoughtfully designed!

Prior to reaching Machu Picchu, we'll serve a delightful à la carte gourmet meal featuring a starter, main course, dessert, and a drink. After approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes of travel, we will arrive in Aguas Calientes.

Next, a bus will take us up to the mountain summit, home to the magnificent citadel of Machu Picchu. Here, a guided tour will immerse you in the rich history, legends, and remarkable achievements of the Incas, lasting between 2 and 3 hours.

As we conclude our journey, we will pause beside Machu Picchu's entrance to enjoy a delightful afternoon tea at one of the most exquisite hotels in Peru, which perfectly wraps up our adventure.

Finally, we will return to the village of Aguas Calientes, where the train will transport us back to Cusco, concluding our 12.5-hour excursion with fond farewells.

If you prefer, a one-way ticket to Machu Picchu is available. This option includes luxury train transportation and afternoon tea.

Bimodal Bus + Train Service During Rainy Season

For travel during the rainy season, from January 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026, contact customer service for assistance with your booking. The journey will involve both bus and train.

Your adventure begins with a private minibus ride from Wanchaq train station in Cusco to the Rio Sagrado train station at A Belmond Hotel, followed by a scenic ride on the Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu station in Aguas Calientes.

If you choose the round-trip option, the train ride returns you from Machu Picchu station in Aguas Calientes to the Rio Sagrado station, A Belmond Hotel. A private minibus will then take you back to your hotel in Cusco or to Plazoleta de las Nazarenas if you are staying outside the city center.

• Train departure from Rio Sagrado station, A Belmond Hotel: 9:40 am
• Arrival at Machu Picchu train station in Aguas Calientes: 12:24 pm

• Arrival at Ollantaytambo train station: 7:25 pm

Admission to Machu Picchu Archaeological Park

Please remember that entrance to the archaeological site can only be guaranteed for those with tickets purchased at least 45 days prior to the travel date. Last-minute reservations may not secure your entry.

In case of cancellations or changes after the train tickets are issued, the entry ticket to Machu Picchu for the original travel date will be forfeited and deducted from any potential refund.

Limited Availability

This journey is set on one of Peru's most sought-after trains, and due to limited capacity, availability can be restricted. It's advisable to book as early as possible to secure your seats for the desired date.

After your reservation is confirmed, official train tickets will be dispatched within 72 hours.
