Cruise Overview

Day 1

We will gather at Iskandar airport in the morning, then head towards Kumai. Upon arrival, we'll embark on our klotok, the traditional wooden boat that will serve as our mobile accommodation during this 3-day Borneo journey.

We will glide down the Sekonyer River, making our way to the Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center for orangutans. This route takes us through one of Borneo's most pristine areas, offering sights of wildlife such as the proboscis monkey, macaques, and various exotic avian species.

At the Tanjung Harapan reserve, you will have the chance to observe orangutans in their wild habitat. Maintaining a respectful distance, you will witness their affectionate nature up close.

Following our exploration, we will return to the Klotok to appreciate the sunset over the Sekonyer River. We'll conclude our rewarding day with a delightful candlelit dinner, surrounded by the sounds of the vibrant jungle as we float gently down the river.

Day 2

Awaken at dawn to the sounds of the jungle, and after enjoying a hearty breakfast, we will set off to the camp at Pondok Tanggui. Here, you can observe the playful orangutans of all ages and sizes.

Afterward, we will board our klotok once again to navigate towards the Leakey camp. This leg of the journey lasts about two hours, giving you the chance to unwind, take in the beautiful surroundings, and savor a delicious meal on board.

Upon arriving at Camp Leakey, you can either embark on a hike through the Indonesian jungle or visit the informative center. Later, we will explore the Nipa Palm area, also known as the Firefly habitat. In this enchanting spot, we can marvel at these fascinating insects, which create a magical atmosphere.

It’s important to note that sightings of fireflies cannot be guaranteed due to their unpredictable nature, influenced by factors such as season and light conditions.

As the day draws to a close, we’ll venture on a night trek to search for orangutans, basking in the unique beauty of the moonlit forest.

We will finish the evening with dinner on our floating accommodation, followed by a restful night after a full day of adventures.

Day 3

Following breakfast on the boat, we will navigate back along the river to Kumai. Here, we will transfer to an air-conditioned vehicle for transport to Pangkalan Bun Airport by approximately 9:30 am, marking the conclusion of our memorable three-day cruise.

Accommodation During the Tour

Your stay will be aboard a classic klotok, measuring around 50 feet. This vessel features comfortable mattresses, soft cushions, a mosquito net, a kitchen, and a restroom.

A dedicated professional crew, including a captain, chef, and an English-speaking guide, will be at your service throughout the tour.

What to Prepare for This Tour?

To participate in this journey, you will need a round-trip flight to Pangkalan Bun Iskandar Airport, arriving on the day of your booking prior to 12:00 PM and departing three days later. For example, arrivals on a Monday would necessitate a flight back on Wednesday.
