In the Middle Ages, this Benedictine monastery was honored as the largest Christian sanctuary globally, a title it held until the construction of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

This ticket grants you access to the remnants of the historic abbey, whose foundation dates back to 909.

Operating Hours
The Cluny Abbey welcomes visitors from Monday to Sunday at the following hours:
- April 1 - June 30: from 9:30 am to 6 pm
- July 1 - August 31: from 9:30 am to 7 pm
- September 1 - 30: from 9:30 am to 6 pm
- October 1 - March 31: from 9:30 am to 5 pm
The Museum of Art and Archaeology will be closed from 12:30 pm to 2 pm until the year's end.
On January 28, 2025, Cluny Abbey and the Museum of Art and Archaeology will open later at 11:30 am instead of the usual 9:30 am.
Please be aware that all of these timings are tentative and may be subject to modifications.?
The final admission to the abbey is allowed 45 minutes before closing, while entry to the museum is permitted 30 minutes prior to closing time.

- December 24 and 31: the Abbey will close at 4 pm
Admission Free of Charge
Entry to Cluny Abbey is complimentary for the following groups:
- Young individuals from the European Union aged 18 to 25.
- All children under 18 years, regardless of nationality.
Additionally, free admission is granted to everyone on the first Sunday of each month between January 1 and March 31, as well as from November 1 to December 31. The third weekend of September is also a free entry period.
To receive the free admission mentioned above, please visit the ticket office on-site and provide a document that verifies your eligibility for a free ticket.
