Trail Options

When reserving your adventure, you'll have the ability to select from four distinct hiking trails nestled within the rainforests surrounding La Ceiba. Each option comes with minibus transportation to and from your hotel, along with the guidance of an English-speaking expert. Explore the details of each trail below:

Guaruma Trail (2.5 hours)

This choice involves a minibus journey to Pico Bonito National Park, where we'll initiate our trek along the Guaruma trail.

Our journey kicks off in the Las Flores area, abundant with orchids and bananillos. We will then progress to the Los Árboles section, where the rainforest thickens and envelops us. For a refreshing break, you are invited to dive into the serene waters of La Muralla stream before concluding our hike!

El Olvido Trail (3 hours)

Choosing this route will transport us by minibus to El Pital, roughly a 40-minute drive away. Upon arrival, we will commence our hike along the El Olvido trail. The trek includes crossing the powerful Cangrejal River as we walk through farmlands and enter the lush wooded areas of Nombre de Dios National Park. Additionally, we will stop by a local handicraft cooperative! To beat the heat, feel free to take a invigorating dip in the streams we encounter along the route!

Zacate Trail (4 hours)

Selecting this option will take us along the path leading to the Zacate River where we will navigate a trail of approximately 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles).

As we hike, we are likely to spot toucans, swallows, and razor-bills. Keep an eye out for the playful white-faced capuchins too! You can also enjoy a cool respite in one of the crystal-clear pools during the trek.

El Bejuco Trail (4 hours)

We'll pick you up from your hotel and head towards the starting point of the 7-kilometer (4.3 mile) El Bejuco trail, just a quick 20-minute ride away!

At one of the highest vantage points along this trek, you'll be greeted with a breathtaking panoramic view of La Ceiba and Cayos Cochinos. As we near the end of our journey, the crown jewel of the hike awaits: the El Bejuco waterfall, a spectacular cascade towering at 60 meters (nearly 200 feet), perfect for a refreshing swim!
