Upon booking your private São Miguel tour, you will have the flexibility to choose from three distinct itineraries. All tours kick off at 9 am from your hotel, include lunch, and a personal English-speaking guide. The experiences conclude around 5 pm, returning you to your place of accommodation.

West Coast Itinerary

Selecting this itinerary means starting your day at the breathtaking Vista do Rei viewpoint, offering some of the island's finest vistas of the Sete Cidades crater along with the serene Azul and Verde lakes. We'll then descend towards the Mata do Canário Natural Park, renowned for its collection of small lakes.

The journey continues with a lunch stop in the town of Lagoa, renowned for its delightful local eateries. Following this, we will travel to the historic center of Ribeira Grande, where remnants from the 17th century create a charming atmosphere.

Finally, we’ll venture to Pico da Barrosa for astonishing views of Lagoa do Fogo.

Northeast São Miguel Itinerary

This adventure takes us to the northeastern portion of the island, recognized as the oldest geological region, offering a landscape featuring forests, mountains, waterfalls, and stunning viewpoints overlooking the ocean.

As we explore, you will experience the area’s natural beauty while visiting enchanting local villages. Additionally, we will stop by local craft shops to learn about the island's traditional artisan techniques.

At noon, we’ll pause in Achadinha for a midday meal before continuing our exploration towards the village of Povoação, the landing site of the island’s initial settlers.

Southern São Miguel Itinerary

This tour will lead us to the south side of the island, heading toward the picturesque Furnas Valley. Our first stop will be the village of Lagoa, where you can marvel at its exquisite ceramic crafts, followed by a visit to Vila Franca do Campo, the island’s former capital.

Upon arriving in Furnas, you will savor a traditional meal known as cozido na Caldeira, uniquely cooked using the natural heat of volcanic soil. Following this delightful lunch, we will ascend to Pico do Ferro to take in a sweeping panoramic view of the valley.
