Experience the thrill of an off-road adventure in Franz Josef! Traverse through lush rainforests, rugged riverbeds, and glacial landscapes, regardless of the weather, for a remarkable journey!

Activity Overview

We will convene at 30 Main Road, centrally located in Franz Josef, at the designated time, eager to set off on this exciting journey through remote terrains and unspoiled nature.

Prior to our departure, we will discuss essential safety protocols and learn the basics of quad bike operation to guarantee an enjoyable and secure outing. Once prepared, helmets and, if necessary, waterproof outerwear, trousers, and boots will be provided.

During our expedition, we will navigate a mix of riverbeds, tracks through rainforests, and an ancient glacier bed, all framed by the breathtaking scenery of the Southern Alps and the Franz Josef Glacier. Guided by our expert, every participant will find themselves immersed in an environment reminiscent of a Jurassic-era rainforest.

Should the weather be favorable, we will have the privilege of taking in stunning views of the Franz Josef Glacier from the township. Nevertheless, if the rain occurs, there’s no need for concern—the more rain, the merrier! This off-road experience is considered the ideal rainy day activity in Franz Josef, ensuring excitement as you maneuver through puddles. Regardless of the conditions, the rainforest reveals its vibrant charm, and we’ll ensure you remain comfortably warm and dry throughout the excursion.

After two exhilarating hours filled with off-road excitement, our journey will conclude.

Quad Bike Choices

When reserving your spot, you will have the option to select from the following quad bike configurations:

• Single quad: for individual drivers
• Double quad: accommodates both a driver and a passenger

Eligibility Criteria

• Drivers must be at least 16 years old, and those who wish to carry a passenger must be 18 years or older.
• Passengers need to stand a minimum height of 145 cm (4 ft 7) to safely use the footrests.
• The maximum allowable weight per double quad is 220 kilos (485 pounds).
