Activity Overview

At the scheduled time, our team will collect you from your hotel in Guadalajara and take you to the train station, the starting point for your journey aboard the renowned Tequila Express.

Once you are on the train, immerse yourself in a lively ambience with live music as we cruise through the agave fields, recognized as a World Heritage Site. Did you know that the blue agave serves as the main ingredient in the beloved Mexican spirit?

After a scenic 2-hour ride, we will reach the charming town of Tequila, where a visit to a traditional distillery awaits. Here, we will gain insights into the tequila-making process, from the harvesting of agave to distillation and oak barrel aging, observing how this iconic beverage comes to life.

Your one-hour tour at the distillery includes a delightful tequila tasting, allowing you to savor the unique tastes and aromas of this cherished drink. You’ll learn to identify various colors, textures, and fragrances like a connoisseur. Cheers to that!

Following the visit, you will enjoy 6 hours and 45 minutes of leisure time to wander the cobblestone lanes of Tequila, browse local shops filled with artisan goods, and explore the Cleofas Mota market. Make sure to sample the delicious Jalisco cuisine at a nearby local restaurant.

Later, we will reconvene to board the Tequila Express for your return journey to Guadalajara, maintaining the festive vibe throughout. After arriving back in the city, we will drop you off at your hotel, concluding a full adventure lasting between 12 to 14 hours.

Train Ticket Options

While reserving your spot, you can select from the following ticket classes based on your preferences:

• Tourist class ticket: enjoy the ride seated in fabric chairs amid a lively atmosphere, perfect for admiring the agave scenery.
• First class ticket: travel in more spacious leather seating, with access to the train bar available on Fridays and Sundays. This option is reserved for guests aged 17 and older.

Pickup Information

Your tour includes pickup from hotels within the Guadalajara metropolitan area. If your accommodation is located outside this region, we will arrange to meet you at Calle 12 de Diciembre.
