Hiking to Roque de los Muchachos

At the predetermined time, we will gather you from your selected meeting point. From there, we will board a bus and embark on a scenic drive along the winding roads leading to the island’s highest elevation: Roque de los Muchachos.

We will disembark from the minibus and embark on a moderate hiking journey across the breathtaking terrains of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. The pathway skirts the rim of the crater, revealing various astronomical observatories in the area, along with the picturesque layer of clouds enveloping the northern section of the island—ideal for capturing stunning photographs!

As we trek, we will witness a diverse array of flora including cedars, laburnum, broom, pansies, and tajinastes, whose vibrant blooms during springtime add a splash of color to the natural landscape, adorning the island's summit. Our route also crosses a unique basalt stone formation known as Roberto's Wall, which is steeped in intriguing folklore.

This hiking path spans approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) and will guide us to Pico de la Cruz, the closest vantage point to the notable Roque de los Muchachos. Here, we will pause to take in the scenery once more, and if conditions permit, we will enjoy sweeping vistas of the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, and Tenerife.

As the tour concludes, we will return to our starting location and bid farewell after spending roughly 4 to 5 hours together.
