Cacheuta and Potrerillos Reservoir (5 hours)

Our journey begins as we head south towards the picturesque square of Chacras de Coria. After a quick stop, we’ll travel along National Route 82, following the Mendoza River and passing through charming villages like Las Compuertas, Blanco Encalada, and Colonia Suiza. Our next destination is the lovely town of Cacheuta, where you will cross a suspension bridge over the Mendoza River.

We’ll then pause at the viewpoint of the Potrerillos Reservoir, offering stunning vistas of the dam. After exploring additional attractions in the vicinity, we’ll make our way back to Mendoza.

Villavicencio Natural Reserve (4 hours)

Traveling north, we will arrive at the scenic Villavicencio Nature Reserve, where a visit to the interpretation center will enhance your understanding of the area’s rich biodiversity. We will stop at the renowned Hotel Termas de Villavicencio to appreciate its beautiful gardens and historic chapel.

Following our exploration of this iconic hotel, established in 1940, we’ll take National Route 52 to access the viewpoint of the Caracoles de Villavicencio.

Autel Canyon and Grande Valley (13 hours)

This trip starts with a visit to San Rafael, Mendoza’s second-largest city. After a quick panoramic tour of the town, we will proceed to the Grande Valley, where you will have three hours of leisure time to explore and enjoy lunch next to its acclaimed reservoir.

In the afternoon, we will venture to the famous Autel Canyon, where the river has carved an impressive gorge through the rocks, leaving you in awe of its natural beauty.

High Mountain Journey: Andes Along the Mendoza River (12 hours)

Departing from Mendoza, we'll make our way westward through the Uspallata Valley towards the majestic Andes. Our first stop will be the Puente del Inca Natural Monument, a captivating footbridge spanning the Mendoza River, which is steeped in local legends that we will share with you. Our tour will also include a visit to the viewpoint of Mount Aconcagua, the tallest peak in the Americas at 6,962 meters!

Continuing our journey, we will reach the village of Las Cuevas, where you’ll have an hour for lunch. If the weather permits, we will then visit the Cristo Redentor de los Andes, a renowned bronze statue marking the Argentina-Chile border.

Note: Access to the Cristo Redentor is available only from January to April, and visits depend on road and weather conditions during that period.

High Mountain Journey: Andes via Villavicencio (13 hours)

This option includes a visit to the Villavicencio Reserve before exploring the Andes region. Key sights include the Inca Bridge, the vantage point for Aconcagua, Las Cuevas, and the Cristo Redentor de los Andes.

After enjoying an hour for lunch in Las Cuevas, we’ll return to Mendoza through the Uspallata Valley, with a stop at the viewpoint of the Potrerillos Reservoir before concluding the trip.

Pickup Information

The excursion provides hotel pickup and drop-off in central Mendoza. For guests staying in more isolated areas, pickups will occur at Paseo Sarmiento, 129.
