Exploring the Lacandon Jungle

Our journey begins with a pickup from your hotel in Palenque at the scheduled time. We will then embark on a minibus ride lasting approximately three hours towards the Lacanja Chansayab indigenous community, pausing en route for a revitalizing breakfast.

Upon arrival, we will commence our hiking expedition into the heart of the Lacandon jungle.

During this 4-hour trek, you'll have the chance to appreciate the lush ferns, vibrant orchids, and stunning bromeliads that dot the landscape. Accompanied by a knowledgeable Lacandon guide, you'll learn about the unique characteristics of various plants and, with a bit of luck, you may spot howler monkeys, colorful macaws, or even harpy eagles. Keep your eyes open, as jaguars also roam this area!

On our return journey to Lacanja Chansayab, you'll enjoy an hour of free time for lunch before heading back to Palenque. We will conclude the day's adventure by returning to your hotels approximately 14 hours after the initial pickup.
