Enjoy an extraordinary adventure around the stunning lakes of Whitehorse! Prepare to learn the art of fishing in one of the premier fishing spots, guided by an expert from Canada.

Whitehorse Ice Fishing

The experience kicks off at 1 pm at the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre, where we will embark on our journey to one of the numerous lakes in the Yukon. This region is well-known for its diverse network of lakes and rivers, making ice fishing an ideal activity to explore.

We will embark on a snowshoe trek, immersing ourselves in the breathtaking scenery of the frozen landscape. Upon reaching the lake selected by our guide, we will engage in ice fishing, a time-honored tradition dating back 4000 years that originally served as a vital means of sustenance. Once we set foot at the lake in Whitehorse, we will drill a hole through the ice, which can reach a thickness of up to 1 meter during winter!

Next, we will create a cozy bonfire to warm ourselves as we gather around the hole to begin our fishing. The lakes of Yukon are home to a rich variety of fish, including northern pike, lake trout, arctic grayling, and rainbow trout.

If fortune smiles upon us and we catch a fish, our guide will expertly clean it and prepare it over the fire, offering us a delightful meal freshly made!

Finally, we will return to our starting point by 5 pm.
