At a time that suits you, we will arrange to collect you from your accommodation to begin an unforgettable private tour of Ciudad Rodrigo, the second-largest municipality in the Salamanca region. During the excursion, you have the flexibility to select which landmarks to see and which parts of the city to uncover.
A great starting point for our guided exploration is the Plaza Mayor. This vibrant square is enhanced by its inviting terraces and the stunning architecture of its buildings, including the Ciudad Rodrigo Town Hall, an exquisite example of Castilian Renaissance design. After taking in its impressive exterior, we will proceed to wander through the historic district of the town. It’s worth noting that this area was designated as a Historic-Artistic Site in 1944.
Among the key attractions is the Cathedral of Santa María, which, along with the Old Cathedral of Salamanca, the Cathedral of Zamora, and the Collegiate Church of Toro, represents the famed "Salamanca group"; a distinctive architectural style celebrated globally. Should you wish, there's the option to explore the interior of the cathedral, though the admission fee will be additional.
Our journey continues as we visit the renowned boar, an ancient pre-Roman sculpture that brings to mind the iconic Toros de Guisando.
