Description

Discover the beauty of Kyoto on two wheels as you explore its most significant landmarks during this engaging cycling tour, perfect for experiencing the city's rich history and inspiring charm!

Tour Overview

The adventure begins at exit 2 of Gojo subway station at the scheduled time. After gathering, we will select our bikes and ensure your helmet fits comfortably while confirming that all equipment is ready. With everything set, we will embark on our journey through the captivating streets of Gion, immersing ourselves in the renowned geisha district.

Did you know that Gion is among the top attractions in Japan? Here, you may catch a glimpse of the iconic geishas in vibrant kimonos, often seen gracefully traversing the Tatsumi wooden bridge or strolling along Hanamikoji Street.

Our cycling path will lead us to the serene Nanzen-ji Temple, recognized as one of Japan's premier Zen temples, as we glide down the enchanting Philosopher's Walk. This scenic path follows the canal's edge and holds historical significance, being traversed daily by the esteemed philosopher Kitaro Nishida on his route to school.

Continuing our ride, we will arrive at Ginkaku-ji, known as the Silver Pavilion, celebrated for its tranquil gardens. Following this, we will visit the ancient Shimogamo Shrine, which stands as one of Kyoto's earliest Shinto shrines. Our final destination will be the Imperial Palace, once the home of the Japanese imperial family. What intriguing narratives are hidden within its grounds? We'll share all the fascinating details!

After an exciting 4-hour ride filled with exploration and discovery, we will return to our starting point to return the bikes and conclude our experience.
