Huon Valley and Hastings Caves Day Trip

Embark on an enchanting journey through the towering trees of the Tahune Forest during this day trip to the Huon Valley. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating Hastings Caves.

Day Trip Overview

At the scheduled departure time, we will collect you from your accommodation in central Hobart to hop onto a minibus and venture into the lush Huon Valley. This area is celebrated for its abundant apple orchards and is home to one of Australia's renowned craft ciders.

Your first highlight will be the Tahune Airwalk, an exceptional pathway situated alongside the Huon River. Here, you will enjoy a full 2 hours to roam this breathtaking location, taking in the magnificent surroundings and perhaps enjoying a meal. You will walk among trees that have stood for over 2500 years!

Next, we will head to the remarkable Hastings Caves, notable as one of only two Dolomite caves found in Australia. As we delve into the depths of this extensive cave system, you will gain insights into the region's geological history. Be on the lookout for local wildlife, including platypus, quolls, pademelons, and various bird species.

Before we conclude the day, our return to Hobart will feature a stop at a local cider maker, offering you the chance to partake in a tasting session if you choose. After approximately 10 hours of exploring, we will bid you farewell at the initial meeting point.
