Day Trip to Sintra, Nazaré, & Fátima
Description
Culture, devotion, and breathtaking landscapes are the highlights of this day excursion from Lisbon to Sintra, Nazaré, and Fátima. Prepare to uncover the charm of three of Portugal's most picturesque towns!
Details of the Day Trip
We'll convene at Rua da Conceição at the arranged time, from where we will embark westward from Lisbon's historic area.
After a journey lasting approximately 1 hour, we will arrive in the enchanting town of Sintra. Here, we will take part in a guided exploration of the gardens of the Palace of Pena. As you wander along the pathways, you will immediately notice the distinctive yellow and red tones adorning this estate, once the residence of the Portuguese monarchy. Are you curious about the reason behind its vibrant colors? You will discover it soon enough!
Following our visit to the exterior of the National Palace of Pena, we will depart from Sintra and continue our journey across Portugal towards Nazaré. In this coastal gem, renowned as a surfer’s haven, we will stop at a viewpoint, allowing you to take in the powerful waves that frequently grace this stretch of coastline.
Next, you will enjoy 1 hour of leisure time in Nazaré, giving you the chance to explore the town and sample some of its iconic dishes. Once our lunch concludes, we will proceed to the Sanctuary of Fátima and the Chapel of the Apparitions. Are you aware that this site is one of Europe's most revered pilgrimage landmarks? Here, you’ll have 1 hour to discover the various churches that form this significant religious complex at your own pace.
Finally, we will make our way back to Lisbon, wrapping up this comprehensive 10-hour excursion. Upon our arrival in the Portuguese capital, we will drop you off at Praça Martim Moniz.
