Avenue of the Volcanoes 2-Day Excursion
Day 1
Our journey begins early in the morning as we depart Quito, embarking on a route through the expansive volcanic region of Ecuador. This area, known as the Avenida de los Volcanes, was named in 1802 by the renowned German explorer Alexander Von Humboldt. Spanning 186 miles (300 km), this corridor is richly populated with over 70 volcanic formations.
We will enjoy a hearty breakfast in Lasso before proceeding to Tigua, where a visit to an indigenous home will provide insight into local customs and traditions.
Next, we will traverse the breathtaking Toachi River Canyon en route to Quilotoa. Upon arrival, we will hike down to the lake nestled within the crater, experiencing one of the most stunning views in the highlands!
After soaking in the splendor of the Quilotoa lagoon and its volcano, we will make our way to our accommodation in Baños for the night.
Day 2
Following a delightful breakfast at the hotel, we'll journey to Mega Park Río Blanco, where you will have the option to engage in various adventure sports, including zip-lining or walking across the glass bridge at your leisure.
We will then embark on a hike to the Agoyan Pailón del Diablo and the Manto de la Novia waterfalls. Our visit will also include a stop at the treetop house and swimming in Greenland, promising unforgettable views!
Finally, we will return to Quito, concluding our tour with drop-offs at the original pickup hotels around 4 or 5 pm.
