Envision unraveling the essence of Toro wine within an impressive historical estate. Welcome to the enchanting Palacio de Villachica Winery. At the specified time, we will gather outside this magnificent palace and embark on a journey to explore the rich heritage of the winery and its exceptional wines.
Our adventure begins with a deep dive into the narrative of Villachica Palace, an exquisite 18th-century structure filled with tales surrounding the renowned Marquise of Villachica. Interestingly, this site is the birthplace of some of the finest Tempranillo wines, representing three prestigious Designations of Origin in Spain: Toro, Ribera del Duero, and Rioja.
Throughout the tour, you will not only uncover the captivating history of this venue but also gain insight into the wine-making practices at this winery. You'll have the opportunity to navigate through the premises of the Villachica Palace, including the processing area, barrel room, packaging section, and even a bedroom.
Once you have grasped the theoretical aspects of wine production, the moment for tasting will arrive. We will proceed to the tasting room, where you will indulge in a wine tasting paired with a traditional snack from the region. A delightful experience!
As this 1.5-hour journey comes to a close, we will bid farewell, wrapping up this immersive wine tourism experience.
Tour Selections
During the reservation process, you have the option to choose between two distinct experiences:
- Tour + Tasting of 3 Wines: indulge in a Crianza DOCA Rioja, a Crianza DO Ribera, and a Crianza DO Toro.
- Tour + Tasting of 5 Wines: enjoy a vino DOCA Rioja, a DO Ribera, and three selections of DO Toro wines.

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the entrance of the Palacio de Villachica, located at N-122, Km 433, 49800, Zamora. Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the tour begins.
