Our starting point will be the museum dedicated to the dolmens of Antequera. From here, we will commence a thorough exploration of the key landmarks within the city.

The first location on our itinerary is the dolmens of Menga and Viera, recognized as one of the most significant archaeological sites in European megalithic history. We’ll venture inside these ancient structures and uncover their intriguing stories.

Next, we’ll make our way to Coso Viejo Square, nestled in the vibrant heart of the city’s historic district. Our journey continues with a visit to the Collegiate Church of San Sebastian, where we’ll appreciate its intricate architecture and delve into the legacies of two prominent figures from Antequera’s past. Our exploration will take us to the elevated vantage point of the city, where we’ll view the Alcazaba's exterior, a sight that commands awe with its impressive fortifications!

In this vicinity, we will also take the opportunity to admire the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor, noted for its stunning façade, alongside the remnants of the Roman baths, which functioned from the latter half of the 1st century A.D. until the closing of the 5th century. If you choose the morning session, our adventure will include a visit to the City of Antequera Museum.

Our journey will conclude as we descend alongside the castle walls, leading us back to Coso Viejo Square.

Important Information

After visiting the dolmens of Menga and Viera, you will need to travel independently to Coso Viejo Square, either by walking or driving your own vehicle. If you prefer to drive, there’s parking available in La Moraleda, just a brief 4-minute walk from the square.
