Fjords Road Trip

Experience an unforgettable journey from Tromsø to Sommarøy as we traverse one of the most picturesque routes in Norway. This trip takes you through breathtaking valleys and stunning fjords, alongside seas and lakes, as well as pristine sandy beaches and remarkable bridges.

Scenic Fjords Adventure

We will convene at Roald Amundsens Plass 1A at the designated time to embark on this thrilling day expedition to Sommarøy. Prepare to uncover the wonders of "the summer island"!

Our first stop will be the bridge linking the whale island, Kvaløya. At this juncture, you will feel transported to a Caribbean paradise, as the scenery shifts to reveal sparkling waters, azure skies, and soft white beaches.

Next, we'll make a brief halt at the Ersfjordbotn viewpoint, a quaint village situated at the entrance of the stunning Ersfjord fjord in Norway's far north. The views from this viewpoint are sure to leave an indelible mark on your memory!

Continuing on our route through mesmerizing valleys and serene lakes, we will arrive at the beautiful Sommarøy beach, home to roughly 320 residents. Quite remarkable!

As we take in the scenic beauty, we'll pause for a moment to recharge with a sampling of coffee and traditional Norwegian soup or, if you prefer, we can allow some time for you to indulge in a local dish at one of the nearby eateries.

On our return journey, keep an eye out, as fortune may smile upon us and we could witness some reindeer in their natural habitat. We will also pass by the Sjøtun pier, providing views of Katfjord and the Hillesøy road.

Concluding our excursion, we will return to the starting location approximately 4 to 5 hours after we set off.
