Day Trip Overview

Your adventure will commence with a pickup from your hotel in Tirana. We will soon set off towards the picturesque region of Pogradec. Are you ready to uncover the wonders of Albania's border with North Macedonia?

After a 2-hour journey, our first stop will be the charming village of Lin, perched on a peninsula surrounded by the crystalline waters of Lake Ohrid, one of Europe's most profound lakes. Here, we will delve into its significance and ascend to Lin's highest point, where we'll discover a collection of stunning Byzantine mosaics that have preserved their intricate beauty. The panoramic views from this vantage point are truly astounding!

Our exploration continues along the shores of Lake Ohrid as we arrive at Drilon, a scenic natural park inviting us to stroll among willows and quaint bridges. This serene spot has served as a muse for various Albanian poets and artists.

Next, we will travel to Pogradec, where you will enjoy 1.5 hours of leisure time to sample local delicacies at nearby eateries. Don't miss the opportunity to taste regional specialties such as belushka, a popular fish dish, tavë koran, a traditional trout casserole from Lake Ohrid, and lakror, a delightful pancake-style creation filled with vegetables, meats, and cheese.

Post-lunch, we will depart from Lake Ohrid and journey to Voskopojë, located just an hour away. This hidden gem nestled among hills stands as a vital site for cultural and intellectual history in the Balkans.

While there, we will observe some orthodox churches still in remarkable condition and adorned with detailed frescoes. Strolling through its cobblestone lanes enveloped by nature, we will visit several of these sacred sites.

Finally, we will commence our return to Tirana, aiming to arrive back at the original pickup point approximately 13 hours after we started.
