Our meeting point will be at your preferred time at the Pietat Chapel, situated along the route connecting Tortosa and Ulldecona.

The journey commences with a concise overview of the spiritual significance of the Levantine rock art prevalent in this Catalonian region. What did these artworks symbolize? What were their sources of color? These inquiries will be addressed during our visit to the Abrics de l'Ermita Rock Art Interpretation Centre, where we will uncover insights into how people lived 7,000 years ago.

Following our time at the center, we will embark on a short hike to explore three out of the nine preserved rock shelters surrounding the chapel. Within these caves, we will encounter a remarkable collection of cave paintings that has earned the designation of a World Heritage Site.

This rock artistry from the Neolithic era illustrates the societal beliefs and legends of the time, many associated with hunting practices. It serves as a testament to their rituals depicted in stone. These gatherings would take place in such natural enclaves that offered protection from adverse weather conditions.

As we conclude our tour after two hours, we will be rewarded with stunning vistas overlooking the El Montsiá region and the Serra de Godall mountain range.
