Hiking Adventure in La Periquera Ecological Park

We'll gather at your preferred time at Carrera 9 in Villa de Leyva for our journey to La Periquera Ecological Park, a protected natural area where a remarkable hiking experience awaits.

Upon arrival, we will embark on a scenic 2-kilometre (1.2 miles) trail, surrounded by an array of oak trees, escenillos, rosemary, mortillos, and chilcos, along with intriguing endemic flora.

As we progress, we'll reach the Cebada riverbed, meandering through the park and creating various waterfalls. Witness three of these natural wonders, including the impressive La Periquera, which cascades from a height of 15 metres (49 feet). Do you know the story behind its name? Join us to discover!

Throughout our hike, you might encounter some of the wildlife inhabiting this exquisite area, such as wild rabbits, armadillos, ocelots, and weasels.

After a fulfilling connection with the enchanting Colombian nature, we will return to our starting location, concluding our adventure after approximately six hours.
