Day Trip to Látrabjarg & Raudasandur

We will gather at the designated meeting point at 9 am before setting out towards the Latrábjarg cliffs, located 60 kilometers to the south, marking the westernmost point of Iceland. During the journey, prepare to take in spectacular views of the magnificent Patreksfjörður fjord.

Upon arrival, we will take a stroll to witness some of the largest seabird colonies on the planet. Here, at Latrábjarg, you will have the opportunity to observe the iconic puffins, distinguishable by their vibrant beaks, making for perfect photographic moments.

We will marvel at the towering cliffs, which soar over 400 meters high and extend for 14 kilometers along the coast. As we wander along the edge, our guide will share intriguing tales and legends associated with this remarkable area, including the fascinating history of a shipwreck and an abandoned aircraft. The next phase of our expedition takes us towards one of Iceland's most renowned beaches, specifically Raudasandur, famous for its fine reddish sands and stretching over 10 kilometers. Here, we will relish the views and take a leisurely walk along the shore, appreciating the striking contrast between the dark cliffs and the vivid blue ocean.

Our adventure will conclude with a visit to the Hnjótur Heritage Museum, where we will delve into Iceland's ancient past, cultural heritage, and way of life. We anticipate returning to Patreksfjörður around 3 pm, marking the end of a memorable day.
