Day Trip Overview

We will commence our journey with a pickup from your hotel in San Salvador at the arranged time, setting off to visit one of the most picturesque towns in El Salvador. Let’s begin this adventure!

After approximately 1.5 hours of travel, we'll arrive at Suchitoto, a town renowned for its serene ambiance at every turn. Here, we'll step into a charming local eatery to savor a breakfast featuring pupusas and coffee. Can it get any more authentic?

Next, we will stroll along the cobblestone streets of Suchitoto, lined with Colonial houses adorned with wrought iron balconies and vibrant facades. Did you know that the name of this town translates to "place of birds and flowers" in the Nahuatl language?

In front of the Parroquia de Santa Lucía, we will admire its stunning white Neoclassical facade and capture memorable photos. Just a short walk away, the Plaza Central invites us with its art galleries, craft workshops, and cozy cafés where you can immerse yourself in the town’s tranquility.

At midday, we will make our way to a restaurant where you can enjoy lake views. Depending on your preference, we can take you to the celebrated Casa 1800 Suchitoto or Donde Polo for a leisurely lunch featuring local dishes. Take your time and relish the experience!

Afterward, we will return to our vehicle and, in about 40 minutes, arrive at the Cihuatán Archaeological Park, recognized as one of the best-preserved Prehispanic cities in El Salvador. We will spend 1.5 hours exploring its ceremonial plazas, pyramids, and ancient ballgame venues, comprising over 150 structures!

Finally, we will embark on a 2-hour journey back to San Salvador, ultimately dropping you off at your hotel. The entire experience will total approximately 10 hours.

This trip includes a pickup from hotels located in the central area of San Salvador. If your accommodation is outside this zone, please meet us at the designated point behind the National Library of El Salvador.
