Experience the stunning landscapes of the Gulf of Fonseca through this exciting trip to the islands, departing from San Salvador. This journey offers a glimpse into the local culture alongside breathtaking scenery.

Excursion to the Gulf of Fonseca

Your day begins at 5:15 am with a pick-up from your accommodation in San Salvador. A comfortable bus ride of approximately 3.5 hours will take us to the port of La Union. Upon arrival, we'll transition from the bus to a boat, setting sail to explore the Gulf of Fonseca!

As we navigate the waters, we'll pass notable sites including the renowned Calvo tuna farm, Punta Chiquirin, and Conchaguita Island. Our first destination will be Meanguera Island, where we will spend about thirty minutes wandering to immerse ourselves in the local community's way of life.

Continuing our voyage, we will make our way to Zacatillo Island, where you’ll have 2.5 hours to explore as you wish. This is an ideal moment to enjoy lunch at one of the area's local restaurants and savor traditional dishes at your own pace.

When the time comes, we will regroup and journey back to the municipal dock of La Union. During our return, be prepared to take in the stunning views of Conejo and Chupito islands.

Afterward, we will board the bus once more to return you to your hotel in San Salvador, with an expected arrival around 8 pm.
