Hike Details

We will convene at the specified meeting point near the soccer field in Tortuguero. From there, we’ll proceed to the main entrance of the Tortuguero National Park to complete necessary registrations before embarking on our exploration of the Jaguar trail. Are you ready to experience one of the most celebrated routes within this natural wonder in Costa Rica?

Our adventure will commence as we dive into a distinct ecosystem rich in Costa Rican wildlife diversity. As we advance, the moisture of the tropical forest will envelop you.

Throughout the trek, the melodious songs of birds and the soft crunch of leaves underfoot will indicate the presence of wildlife navigating through the woods. Keep your eyes peeled—we'll guide you on when to gaze upwards towards the canopies!

The Jaguar trail, stretching 1.86 miles (3 kilometers), meanders through clusters of lush tropical trees, where roots break the surface. With a bit of luck, you may catch glimpses of monkeys, toucans, and sloths lounging high above, alongside vibrant amphibians and striking insects.

As we navigate this path, you’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the abundant plant life. We will pause occasionally to observe the animal tracks in the soil, reminding us that we are traversing one of the most wildlife-rich regions of the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

Upon concluding our two-hour hike, we will return to our starting point, where we will take a moment to bid farewell.
