La Manuela Estate Adventure Experiences

Engage in the thrilling activities at La Manuela, where you can opt to discover the former estate of Pablo Escobar via quad bike or jet ski. This unique experience combines adventure tourism with breathtaking scenery and excitement.

Available Activities

Upon making a reservation, you can select from the following experiences. In both cases, the meeting point is located at the dock of the La Manuela estate, adjacent to the model of the historic Peñol. Each tour includes admittance to the estate and the guidance of an English-speaking tour leader throughout your visit.

Below are the specifics of each activity:

Quad Bike Adventure (45 minutes)

Once you receive your personal quad, helmet, and a brief orientation on safety, we will fire up the engines to navigate through La Manuela, the extravagant estate built by Pablo Escobar in the late 1980s along the shores of the Guatapé reservoir. While the estate has suffered devastation from an attack in 1993, it still holds remnants rich in historical significance.

During the quad bike exploration, we will visit critical sites that define the estate's history: the ruins of the main residence, the former dock, areas impacted by explosives, and various viewpoints. At each location, intriguing stories and insights will be shared to illuminate life on the estate and its significance in Colombia’s recent past.

Jet Ski + La Manuela Expedition (2.5 hours)

Following the distribution of the necessary gear and a brief tutorial on operating the jet skis, we embark on our journey across the Guatapé reservoir. Enjoy the stunning vistas of La Piedra del Peñol from the water, the remnants of the old submerged town, and the neighboring islands, mountains, and estates.

After approximately 25 minutes on the jet skis, we will reach La Manuela estate, where a guided tour of its ruins will commence. You will uncover the history surrounding its creation, its destruction by dynamite, and its reinvention as a tourist destination.

The adventure concludes with a jet ski ride back to the starting point.

Timetable Details

• Quad bike experiences can begin anytime from 9 am to 5 pm.
• Jet ski experiences should commence between 9 am and 3:30 pm.

Participant Requirements

To operate the quad bike or jet ski, participants need to sign a waiver, acknowledge liability for any damages, and must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
