During our 1.5 to 3.5-hour voyage in the stunning Eyjafjörður Fjord, we will closely observe the behavior of whales swimming freely in their habitat along Iceland's northern coastline. An English-speaking guide, specializing in Icelandic marine life, will share intriguing insights about these magnificent beings. The grandeur of these massive mammals will leave you in awe! Furthermore, if conditions allow, you may even have the chance to try and catch some small fish that inhabit these waters alongside the whales.
This cruise in Eyjafjörður Fjord also offers the possibility of encountering other marine species, such as dolphins and porpoises. Are you able to distinguish between them? Meeting Point
Please make your way to the meeting point at Whale Watching Hauganes, located at Hauganes Port, at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
How to Get to Haunganes?
Hauganes is a small fishing village in the north of Iceland located in the middle of Eyjafjörður Bay. The nearest town is Akureyri. From this town you can drive to Hauganes in just 20 minutes! Just follow these directions: when you leave Akureyri, take the Ring Road towards Vharmalid and then take the detour to road 82 on the same road. As you approach Hauganes, you will see the exit to track 809. The latter will lead you directly to Hauganes.

Please note that the number of whales spotted can vary depending on factors such as ocean currents, winds, and weather conditions at the time. In addition, the duration of the tour may vary depending on the weather and the time needed to locate the whales.
In the unlikely event that we do not spot any whales during the tour, we'll offer you the chance to join the activity on another day. However, refunds are not available, as this is a natural phenomenon that cannot be guaranteed.

Although we will provide you with waterproof clothing on the boat, it is recommended that you bring warm clothing on the day of the tour.
