Description

Napoleon, Hemingway, Lady Diana... Discover what has captivated so many at Lake Maggiore on this day trip which includes a cruise of the Borromean islands.

Itinerary

At the designated time, we will meet at the Largo Cairoli roundabout and head to the scenic Villa di Stresa on the banks of Lake Maggiore.

You will have free time to explore the boulevards and gardens with views of Lake Maggiore, the second largest lake in Italy. Afterward, we will go to Stresa port for a two-hour cruise on the lake.

Our route will showcase the Borromean islands, including views of Isola Madre, the largest island.

At Isola dei Pescatori or Isola Superiore, you can enjoy regional food, particularly local fish. You have the option to stop for a meal and explore the island.

Next, we will visit Isola Bella, home to a summer palace built by Charles III in the 17th century. Here, you have free time to walk along the lakeside or enter the Borromean Palace, with access to the romantic baroque gardens.

After visiting the Borromean islands, we will return to the Stresa pier and take a bus back to Milan, arriving 7.5 hours later.

The meeting point is at the Largo Cairoli roundabout, on the corner with Via Cusani, 500 metres from the Sforzesco castle. The closest metro stop is Cairoli. Please arrive 20 minutes before the excursion is due to leave (9 am), in order to validate your reservation with the guide.
