Train Choices

Upon making your booking, you will have the option to select from various train types for your trip from Machu Picchu to Cusco, a journey that lasts around 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Expedition Train

Traveling on the Expedition train offers you a chance to experience one of the most remarkable train routes globally. The spacious windows of the train allow for panoramic views of awe-inspiring landscapes that will captivate you. The journey is enhanced by traditional Peruvian music playing in the background as you approach the historic city that was once the heart of the Inca Empire. Vistadome Train

Opting for the Vistadome train allows you to travel in a vibrant and unique way. The train features panoramic windows along the walls and ceilings that immerse you in the stunning nature surrounding you. Along your route to Cusco, pre-recorded commentary will share fascinating insights about the sights you encounter.

Arrival Stations

During your booking, you can select your desired arrival station in Cusco:

• Wanchaq station: at 3:20 pm, 4:22 pm, or 6:20 pm
• San Pedro Station: at 4:43 pm or 5:23 pm
• Poroy Station: at 3:20 pm, 4:43 pm, or 5:23 pm

Rainy Season

From January through April, the trains to and from Cusco operate on a limited basis. To book your trip, please do so directly from Ollantaytambo through this link.

Limited Availability 

This service is offered on one of the most sought-after trains in Peru, with restricted capacity. As a result, ticket availability may be limited on your selected date. To avoid disappointment, we advise you to reserve your tickets well in advance.

Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you the official tickets 48 hours prior to the departure, granting you access to board the train.

Seating Arrangements

Bear in mind that seating arrangements are assigned randomly. On the day of your travel, you may request an alternate seating option from the onboard staff, subject to availability.
