Montmajour Abbey is located in the outskirts of Arles, on road D-17 (Route de Fontvieille).
Buses 29 and 57 run periodically from the center of Arles to the Montmajour Abbey. You can also opt to drive, which would take under 20 minutes.
Opening Times
Montmajour Abbey is open during the following times:
- April 1 to May 31: 10 am to 5 pm
- June 1 to September 30: 10 am to 6:15 pm
- October 1 to March 31: 10 am to 5 pm. Closed on Mondays.
The last ticket is sold 1 hour before closing. For the summer season between June 1 and September 30, final admission is at 5 pm.

Free Admission
Admission to the Montmajour Abbey is free for the following individuals:
- Young people from the European Union between 18 and 25 years old.
- Children under 18 years old, regardless of their nationality.
Admission is also free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31, and between November 1 and December 31. Similarly, the 3rd weekend of September is free.
In order to acquire the free admission mentioned above, you'll have to go to the site’s ticket office and present a certifying document of your eligibility for a free ticket.
