Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Ascea. From there, we will journey to Paestum, a site recognized as a World Heritage Site since 1988. Are you prepared to embark on this thrilling exploration of history?

Upon arrival, we will dive into the archaeological treasures of this ancient Magna Graecia city, established around 600 BC with the name Poseidonia, in tribute to the sea god. Later dominated by the Lucanians, it was renamed Paistom before transforming into a Roman colony and adopting the name Paestum.

Our first stop will be the stunning Doric temples of Hera I, Hera II, and Athena. Here, your guide will share detailed insights about the unique features of each structure, which rise magnificently against the backdrop of the lush plains—a scene reminiscent of a beautiful postcard!

Next, we will proceed to the museum within the park, where you will have the chance to examine important artifacts unearthed from the archaeological digs that illuminated this ancient Greek settlement. The museum showcases a rich collection of historical and artistic significance, featuring vases, weaponry, and burial items from the Greek and Lucanian necropolis.

Among the highlights of the museum, do not miss the breathtaking frescoes of the Tomb of the Diver, capturing a figure poised to leap into the ocean.
