Sabará + Congonhas Tour

Your journey begins with a hotel pickup in Belo Horizonte at the designated time, after which we will travel eastward from the state capital of Minas Gerais.

Our first destination will be Sabará, where a guided tour will immerse you in the charm of the historic town. During our stroll, we’ll encounter the notable monuments along Dom Pedro II street and visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos. We will also walk past the Municipal Theatre and view the churches of Nossa Senhora do Ó and Nossa Senhora do Carmo.

Continuing our exploration, we will pause at the Kaquende fountain. According to local legend, anyone who drinks from this fountain will always return to Sabará. Are you tempted to give it a try? Our tour will conclude with a visit to a restaurant where you'll have one hour to enjoy lunch.

Post-lunch, our adventure shifts to Congonhas, where we will explore the local museum and the renowned sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos. Subsequently, we will discover the Passos da Paixão, featuring 66 intricately carved processional steps created by exceptional artists, including Aleijadinho, a leading figure of Brazilian baroque. We will also appreciate the magnificent sculptures of the Twelve Prophets that were crafted by the master Aleijadinho himself.

Our tour will conclude with the return journey from Congonhas back to Belo Horizonte, with an estimated arrival at your hotel 10 hours after the initial pickup.
