Funicular Railway of Bergen - Fløibanen

Among the top attractions in Bergen, the funicular railway, known as Fløibanen, stands out. It is an experience you shouldn't overlook!

Your ticket includes a round trip on the funicular railway, taking you from the center of Bergen to the summit of Mount Fløyen, which is located at an elevation of 320 meters (1,049 feet) above sea level. From this vantage point, you can appreciate sweeping panoramic views of the city below.

Positioned in the historic core of Bergen, the Fløibanen station is conveniently just a short stroll from the fish market. The journey to the top of Mount Fløyen lasts approximately 5 to 8 minutes.

In addition to witnessing the Bergen Fjord, Mount Fløyen features playgrounds, areas for recreation, and cafés, all complemented by scenic views of nearby small lakes and wooded countrysides. There are also numerous marked hiking paths available, with distances ranging from 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) up to 11 kilometers (6.8 miles).

You are welcome to linger on Mount Fløyen for as long as you prefer, but remember to check the funicular's closing hours to ensure you can return to the city center smoothly.

Operating Times

The funicular operates on the following schedule:

• October-April: Running Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 11 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 11 pm.
• May-September: Operating Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 11 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 11 pm.

During the hours of 10 am to 7 pm, the funicular departs every 15 minutes. Before and after these hours, departures are made every 30 minutes. Please bear in mind that these timings are subject to change.
