Rosario Islands Day Trip

Embark on an unforgettable journey to the Rosario Islands originating from Cartagena, where you will be surrounded by one of the Colombian Caribbean's most stunning natural landscapes, featuring pristine waters and vibrant marine ecosystems.

Tour Overview

At the designated time, our team will greet you either at your Cartagena hotel or at a pre-arranged meeting point. From there, we’ll travel to the harbor to board a speedboat for a picturesque journey across the Bay of Las Ánimas. As we venture outwards, the land will recede, ushering us into the open waters heading towards the Rosario Islands.

During our voyage, we'll pause briefly to take in the impressive sight of the San Fernando Fortress in Bocachica from the boat. After this historical landmark, we will reach Isla Grande, the main island of the Rosario archipelago. Here, you will have time to engage in snorkeling and explore the diverse tropical fish that flourish in these waters.

Our next stop will be at Cholón Island, where you can bask in the vibrant atmosphere for one hour. Following this, we will make our way to Playa Blanca located on the Barú Peninsula. Another hour will be at your disposal to swim in its inviting turquoise sea and relax on the sandy beach. A meal will be provided at this location, featuring dishes such as fried mojarra (a local fish), grilled chicken, among other options served with rice, salad, and a drink.

After approximately 8.5 hours of exploration, we will transition back to Cartagena, concluding the tour at the Bocagrande dock.

Option Without Cholón

When making your reservation, you may select the variation that excludes Cholón Island, subject to availability.

In this scenario, there will be three stops lasting around 1.5 hours each at Isla Grande, Isla Isabela, and Isla Marina. Lunch will be served at Isla Grande, providing a more serene ambiance compared to the Cholón experience. After completing our visits, we will return to Cartagena, with the entire tour lasting approximately 7 hours.

Option Without Cholón and Featuring the Oceanarium

This version will include two scenic pauses at Fort Bocachica and the historic Escobar Mansion, both of which will be observed from the boat.

At the beginning of the tour, you will be able to decide whether to visit Isla Marina or explore the Rosario Islands Oceanarium. Please be aware that the entrance fee for the Oceanarium is not included in the tour price and needs to be paid directly at the venue. Should you opt for the Oceanarium, you can look forward to an exciting dolphin display as part of your visit. This choice must be made prior to departure.

Following this, we'll continue to Isla Grande, followed by lunch either on Isla Barú or Isla Tierra Bomba. Opportunities for snorkeling will be available between stops, contingent on sea conditions. This tour variant also spans roughly 7 hours.

Pickup and Meeting Locations

The starting point will vary based on the selected tour option.

• For the tour including Cholón Island (without Oceanarium) by boat, the activity commences at Marina Todomar.
• For the tour featuring Cholón Island (without Oceanarium) by speedboat, pickups are available from hotels in Bocagrande, Castillo Grande, and El Laguito. If you are situated elsewhere, the meeting point will be Marina Todomar (Cra. 2 #15-364).
• For the tour without Isla Cholón and the Oceanarium, the starting activity will take place at the Santander Monument at La Bodeguita Pier – Gate 1.
• For the tour without Isla Cholón but including the Oceanarium, this will also begin at the Santander Monument at La Bodeguita Pier – Gate 1.
