Free Walking Tour of Delhi
Description
Are you ready to uncover the hidden gems of India’s capital? This complimentary walking tour provides an engaging opportunity to navigate through the vibrant streets and landmark sights of the city.
Itinerary
Our adventure commences at the designated time in front of the eye-catching reddish facade of the Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir Temple, easily recognizable by its striking red exterior. Let’s embark on this journey!
The inaugural stop is the magnificent Digambar Jain Lal temple, noted as the oldest Jain monument in the capital. Located within one of Delhi’s founding areas, Chandni Chowk, you’ll also encounter the Red Fort, which was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.
During our stroll, we will explore various bazaars that showcase an array of traditional Indian goods, from spices to handicrafts and jewellery. Even if shopping isn't your passion, the vibrancy will surely captivate you! Our next destination is the Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahid, a Sikh temple dating back to the late 18th century.
As we continue, we will view the stunning Golden Mosque, built between 1747 and 1751, which is distinguished by its three domes, originally adorned in copper. Next, we’ll proceed to City Hall, where a statue of Queen Victoria once stood, now replaced by the figure of Swami Shraddhanand.
The tour culminates with a visit to the exterior of the Jama Masjid mosque, one of the largest in India. After an enriching two-hour experience, we’ll conclude our walking tour at this monumental site. Until next time!
