Andean Lakes Crossing
Description
Embark on a journey through the Andean Lakes, traversing majestic mountains all the way to Argentina. This excursion across the Andes is a remarkable experience that you won’t want to overlook during your visit to South America.
Crossing the Andean Lakes
We will gather at the designated meeting point in Puerto Varas at the scheduled time, commencing our eastbound road trip alongside Lake Llanquihue.
Next, we will board a ferry to navigate Lake Todos los Santos, taking in views of the Osorno Volcano and other striking peaks of the Andes.
After approximately 2 hours of travel, we will reach Villa Peulla. Here, you will have 2 hours to enjoy lunch and explore the charming town, where you can stroll through enchanting waterfalls. Subsequently, we will resume our journey and cross into Argentina through the Vicente Perez Rosales International Pass, situated at nearly 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level.
Upon arrival at the Puerto Frias pier, we will board a catamaran to navigate across Lake Felix Frias and Lake Nahuel Huapi. The boat ride will provide stunning views of the breathtaking landscapes filled with mountains, forests, and volcanoes as we approach Bariloche, often regarded as the capital of Argentine tourism.
After approximately 12 hours of this incredible experience, we will conclude our adventure as we return to the city center.
