Siem Reap Bike Tour
Description
Lose yourself in the magic of Cambodia on a bike tour. Choose between two different routes: explore the rice paddies and farms of rural Siem Reap or discover the mystical jungle around the Angkor Temples.
Siem Reap Rural Bike Route
After being picked up from your hotel at 7:30 am, you'll receive all the necessary equipment for your bike tour of rural Siem Reap. Depart from the hustle and bustle of urban Siem Reap and embrace the tropical countryside. Pedal past farms and villages while traversing Cambodia's rice paddies, gaining insights into the local traditions and culture and experiencing daily life in the rural settlements along your route.
This bike tour is suitable for all levels, as your professional English-speaking guide will adjust the speed and route to match your preferences and abilities. You will also take a break during your tour, providing you the opportunity to taste delicious typical snacks and fruits (included).
Expect the tour to finish around 12:30 pm, after which you'll be returned to your accommodation.
Angkor Temples Jungle Bike Route
Get picked up from your hotel at 8 am and equip yourself with everything necessary for your adventure. Begin cycling towards Angkor, the former capital of the Khmer Empire, which is set amidst a luscious jungle. Over the more than 500 years since the site was abandoned, the rampant vegetation has taken over the temple ruins.
Your first stop will be Ta Prohm, where the exquisitely carved stone walls of this World Heritage Site are visible among the overgrown roots and branches of the surrounding forest. This mythical temple was chosen as a filming location for Tomb Raider due to its stunning imagery of the harmony between man and nature!
Continue towards the lost city of Angkor Thom, entering through an ancient stone gate watched over by an intricate elephant carving and four giant faces. From here, proceed to Prasat Bayon, one of Angkor's most iconic temples, renowned for its "face towers," with around 50 towers each featuring multiple carved faces, representing the various provinces of the Great Khmer Empire.
Visit the Terrace of Elephants, an over 1000-foot long (350 m) viewing platform, and the Terrace of the Leper King, both famous for their detailed bas-reliefs. This promises to be an unforgettable experience!
You will take a break at a local restaurant where a lunch of tasty traditional Cambodian dishes will be enjoyed (included). With satisfied appetites, you will begin your journey back to Siem Reap, with an expected drop-off at your hotel around 4 pm.
