What's Included in the Vienna City Card?
This card is available for different timeframes: 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or 7 days, offering numerous benefits, among which are:
- Unlimited travel on public transport in Vienna for the selected period
- Discounts at various museums and attractions (valid from the moment of activation for the card's duration)
- Special offers on theatre and concert tickets
- Reduced room rates at participating hotels
- Discounts at selected restaurants
How Does it Work?
The Vienna City Card is usable for 24, 48, 72 hours or 7 days, depending on your choice. After booking, you will receive a voucher containing a code that can be activated at the official Vienna City Card website or via the complimentary IVIE app. This app allows personalization of your card and setting the date for public transport use and applicable discounts.
After finalizing this process, you can opt to keep the ticket on your mobile device or print it. You can find a detailed list of discounts available via this catalogue. Be aware that advance reservations may be necessary for some attractions. The discount benefits are available for 7 days following the card's activation, regardless of its selected duration.
Vienna City Card Discounts Only
Selecting this alternative will provide you with access to various discounts at shops, attractions, and dining establishments in Vienna. Please keep in mind that this option does not cover public transport in Vienna. Once activated, you will have 7 days to utilize these discounts.
Vienna Pass
It’s important to clarify that this card differs from the Vienna Pass. The Vienna Pass provides free entry to numerous monuments and attractions throughout the city, while the Vienna City Card focuses on free public transport, including the Hop-On Hop-Off buses, as well as discounts on various services.
Children Under 15
Each Vienna City Card holder is allowed one child under the age of 15 to travel free of charge.

Important information
How to Validate Your Card
You will receive a 12-digit voucher code, which you'll have to enter on the website www.viennacitycard.at, personalize the ticket, and select the desired option:
- Print-at-Home Ticket (must be printed in original size): The PDF will be sent to your email.
- Mobile app ticket: the activation code for the mobile app ticket will be sent to you by e-mail and must be entered into the IVIE app.
If you have the IVIE app on your phone, you can enter the 12-digit voucher code directly into the IVIE app and redeem it via the app.
The Vienna City Card includes access to public transport operated by Wiener Linien consisting of metro, tram, S-Bahn, and bus routes in Vienna's core zones.
Your ticket must be validated before you travel for the first time. Without a validation stamp, your ticket is invalid. Stamp your ticket at a Wiener Linien ticket validator at the start of your first journey and your ticket will be valid for the next 24, 48, or 72 hours or 7 days in the Vienna core zone (including Nightline buses).
