Excursion to La Cocha Lagoon & La Corota Island
Your adventure begins at 9 am when we meet at Parque Santander in Ipiales. From this point, we will head towards La Cocha Lagoon, recognized as the second-largest lake in Colombia.
Our first stop will be the charming town of El Puerto, famous for its picturesque Swiss-style wooden buildings. Following this, we will visit a local family's private home for an authentic experience.
During our visit, family members will guide us through their home garden and showcase their organic crops. This visit will culminate in a delightful traditional lunch featuring vegetable soup, trout fillet, and a local dessert.
After savoring our meal and bidding farewell to our hosts, we will journey back to the lake’s edge. Here, we will enjoy a serene boat ride on La Cocha Lagoon, navigating towards the lush La Corota Island. Once on the island, we will stroll along a path that offers insights into the rich array of native flora and fauna.
Upon completing our exploration of La Corota Island, we will return by boat to the dock. To conclude our day, we will enjoy a refreshing drink, either tea or natural juice, before we embark on the return trip to our original meeting point in Ipiales, arriving around 7 pm.
