During the reservation process, you can select between two distinct options, both commencing at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel at the indicated time. Below are the specifics for each tour choice:

2.5-Hour Experience

We will gather at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel at your preferred time before embarking on this journey. We’ll head to the marina, where we’ll board a boat to navigate away from Sabana de la Mar and venture towards the wonders of Los Haitises National Park.

Sailing along the striking Caño Hondo River, we will pass through the enchanting red mangroves and reach San Lorenzo Bay. While gliding on the water, observe the impressive rocky mogotes along with pelicans and kingbirds in flight. Keep an eye out for the abundant 700 species of plants adorning the nearby islets!

Post boat ride, we will explore Arena and Linea Cave, which feature ancient petroglyphs and artwork created by indigenous people around 750 years ago. These artistic expressions depict various animals, deities, and human figures rendered in black and grey shades.

After this captivating caving experience, we will return to the vessel and resume our exploration of the national park, searching for manatees, dolphins, and other local marine life.

As our day trip nears its conclusion, we’ll make our way back to the starting point, arriving approximately 2.5 hours after departure.

3 to 3.5-Hour Experience

This alternative option mirrors the itinerary of the shorter tour, showcasing the breathtaking mangroves, the beauty of San Lorenzo Bay, and the historical significance of the Arena and La Linea caves.

After exploring these fascinating sites, we will proceed to the Owl Cave, well-known for its nests of owls. Throughout this adventure, you’ll catch glimpses of the region's distinctive flora and fauna, including numerous bird species that populate this vibrant ecosystem.

Ultimately, we will return to our initial meeting point and wrap up our experience after 3 to 3.5 hours of exploration.
