Meteora Hiking Expedition
Your day will start with a pickup from your accommodation in the morning, as we set off towards Meteora, a place where nature and art converge to create one of Greece's most captivating sceneries.
Following a 20-minute trip by minibus, we will embark on a four-hour journey through the mountains, visiting the very locations where monks selected to construct their remarkable monasteries. Guided by an English-speaking expert, we will traverse approximately 5 miles (8 km), retracing the paths of those early pioneers who ventured into the heart of Meteora.
During our hike, we will encounter the remains of monasteries that have eroded over time and have the chance to visit one of the active ones: either the Grand Meteora Monastery or the Varlaam Monastery (entrance fee not included), depending on the day of your visit. We will provide you with crucial details about the monastery, though note that the exploration will be self-guided.
This experience offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, engage in physical activity, and explore one of Greece's remarkable cultural landmarks, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.
Once our journey around Meteora is concluded, we will return to the minibus to take you back to your hotel.
